PDF tools
Change the pages, size or protection of a PDF without changing its format.
Rearrange, secure, or shrink a PDF without converting it into another format. Every tool here runs in your browser, so the document stays on your device, with one exception: OCR uploads the file so the server can read the scan.

Which page tool do you need?
Use Delete when you want most of the document. Use Extract when you only need a few pages. Split is for when you want every page, just in separate files: if a recipient asked for pages 4 to 9, that is Extract, and if they asked for each chapter on its own, that is Split.
Reorder and Rotate get mixed up because both fix a page that looks wrong. Reorder changes where a page sits in the sequence. Rotate changes which edge is the top. A sideways scan needs Rotate however scrambled the order looks, and a scrambled order needs Reorder even when every page is upright.
What changes and what stays
Merge, Split and Extract copy pages into a new file without redrawing them, so text stays selectable and images keep their quality. Delete, Reorder and Rotate edit the page structure in place. Page numbers and Watermark draw on top of what is already there.
Compress is the exception. Its exact-size mode turns pages into images to reach a byte limit, and it asks for your consent before it does. Lock and Unlock change who can open the file, and a locked PDF needs its password before the other tools can read it.
