Convert from PDF

Turn PDF pages into images, or convert a PDF to Word, Excel or PowerPoint.

Choose images when the result needs to look exactly like the PDF. Choose Word or Excel when you need to edit the content, and expect to check the converted layout. PowerPoint gives editable text boxes and tables by default, or each page as an exact picture on a slide that you cannot edit.

An exact picture or editable content?

PDF to JPG and PDF to PNG are exact. A page is already a drawing of marks on a surface, so rendering it to an image loses nothing you can see. Use them when the output only has to be looked at, pasted into a slide, or sent as a picture. PNG suits text and diagrams, and JPG suits photographic pages.

PDF to Word and PDF to Excel are reconstructions. A PDF does not record which marks formed a paragraph or a table cell, so the converter infers those boundaries from position and spacing. That makes them the right choice for editing and the wrong choice when the copy must look identical.

What to check afterwards

In Word, check headings, table boundaries and reading order. Pages with three or more columns come back as a grid of single words and need rebuilding by hand. In Excel, compare the figures with the original: ruled tables convert reliably, borderless ones are inferred, and a table the converter is not confident about is left out.

A scanned PDF has no text to recover, so run OCR first and convert the searchable result. Word, Excel and PowerPoint conversions upload your file. The image exports run in your browser.
